As per Tencent, similar to the original game of PUBG Mobile, the PUBG Mobile Lite has also been built on Unreal Engine 4, but the game has been optimised to run on smartphones with less than 2GB of RAM. Another difference between the full-fledged game and this new version is in the size of the map as the PUBG Mobile Lite comes with a smaller map for 60 players, whereas the actual map in PUBG Mobile has 100 players in it. It is also worth noting that the Indian launch of PUBG Mobile Lite in India comes at the right time, as Tencent is also pushing a new update on the same day which brings a new “RPG-7” weapon and a new vehicle “Buggy” along with three new locations on the game. It’s also notable that the number of players in the classic mode has been increased to 60, up from the previous limit of 40. Features of PUBG Mobile Lite The company in its statement about the launch of PUBG Mobile Lite said, “With an installation pack of just 400 MB and built for devices having less than 2GB of RAM, the Lite version is set to run smoothly for all players,” it further added, “Keeping in mind that more than half of the smartphone users in India use an entry-level smartphone, the specifications that the Lite version of the game is designed to accommodate exactly that. New players joining in will be eligible for various rewards, in the form of new gears and vehicles.” Users downloading the game should keep in mind that even though Tencent marks the size of the game at 400MB, the total downloadable size of the game comes out to be around 491MB. As for the features in the game, PUBG Mobile Lite will offer enhanced aim assist, a new Winner Pass instead of Royale Pass, bullet trail adjustment, and extended time to kill. Other features will include the ability to heal yourself while moving, map quality optimisation, location display for shooter within mini map’s range. Also, the players on PUBG Mobile Lite will only get the option of choosing from two servers unlike six servers on PUBG Mobile, which would be Asia and South America. The game modes will also be limited to two – Classic and arcade and each of them come only with one map.
